Team Coaching

An effective team can create dramatically more value than a half-hearted - or troubled - one. We all know that, but it's not always easy to get a team firing on all cyclinders. However, with the right support many teams can significantly improve their performance. 

Applying our deep experience of working with senior teams over most industry sectors, Cardinal works with teams to help them make changes that improve business performance. Programmes normally last 4-6 months. The coach works with the team as a whole and also meets with individuals on a one-to-one basis, drawing on a range of psychometric and coaching tools to help the team gain insight and make fast progress.


 

Post-Deal Transition Playbook

After making an investment, our Private Equity clients are keen to get the management team and new Board off to a good start. Some portfolio companies are old hands, and just need to understand the style of their new investors. Others are completely new to private equity. We work with investors to develop a house Post-Deal Transition "Playbook" that they can use with each new portfolio company. 

We then deliver the programme, working with the Investment Team and management to ensure that all of the key issues are surfaced and addressed. Modules can be delivered in a one or two day programme or over a longer period of time in shorter blocks. Our approach is a mix of facilitation, training and team coaching, designed to create the right kind of conversations and get the team off to a fast start.
 

Developing Leaders 

Senior leaders are often hungry for more self-development. We help leaders to understand their strengths as well as their development neeeds, seeing how they benchmark against others in similar roles, and how their colleagues see them. We give very clear feedback, and are not afraid to challenge. 

We also offer executive coaching to leaders who feel they would benefit from general support or wish to work on their chosen development areas.

Management Due Diligence

Drawing on more than twenty years' experience of MDD encompassing businesses across most industry sectors , Cardinal Leadership supports PE investors in the mid market with their pre-deal decision making. 

We are firmly focused on value creation, always assessing whether - and how - a management team can deliver the expected changes in their strategic plan, turning insights into action steps for the 100 day plan and beyond.

It is hard to overstate the importance of having the right people in the right roles. When it comes to making hiring decisions we support our clients to make the right choices.

It should also be the start of a process of developing senior management, not just to deliver value growth but also to carry the business forward to the next stage of its life.
